9:00am- Breakfast at Midtown Cafe & Dessertery!

Morning: The Historic Attractions, Nature and Art!

10:00am- Walk through Old Salem Museum & Gardens!

Old Salem is one of the United State’s popular and authentic historical attractions.Visit the Old Salem Museum & Gardens and know the about the rich and unique history of African Americans and Moravian settlement of Salem dating from 1766 to 1849. Get an up-close look at eighteenth and nineteenth century Moravian culture and traditions.  There are about 200 staffers that play various roles, like the gunsmith, gardeners, potters and shoemakers to tell how the early settlers lived during the 17th century.  Take part in the puppet shows, learn how to churn butter, play colonial games, try the German paper-cutting art, make candles, and write with a quill pen. Adults can learn about heirloom plant varieties in the gardens, architecture lovers can check out the restored and renovated historic buildings and structures.

12:00pm- Arty exploration at The Museum of Early Southern Decorative Arts!

Next, visit the Museum of Early Southern Decorative Arts that has an interesting collection of exhibits from throughout history of North Carolina. Check out the antique furnishings, decor, paintings, textiles, silver, sculptures and other artifacts that are centuries old.

1:00pm- Children’s Museum of Winston-Salem for education and fun!

Next, head for the Children’s Museum of Winston-Salem. The museum features a secret tunnel, early Salem house, old garbs which kids can try on, climbing structures and a variety of educational and fun activities. Kids can paint or sculpt in the art studio, climb the beanstalk, indulge in reading, play in the simulated village, make local krispy kreme doughnuts, or visit the enchanted forest. Kids can learn while having fun at this spot!

3:00pm- Know the Winston-Salem past at New Winston Museum!

Visit the New Winston Museum that chronicles the history of the Winston-Salem people and places through photographs, letters, documents and exhibits. The exhibits demonstrated the impact of Civil war on the Winston-Salem and its residents.

4:00pm-Reynolda House Museum of American Art!

Next stop is named in the National Register of Historic Places- the Reynolda House Museum of American Art. The museum houses one of the finest and extensive collections of American artwork in the South, dating back to 1755 to the present day and includes works by artists like Thomas Eakins, Jacob Lawrence, Frederic Church, Georgia O’Keeffe, and many more great artists.
